Webinar | The Payment Market: a path to the future

The international seminar “The Payment Market: a path to the future” will address topics such as the main digital innovations that have taken place in the Brazilian and American payments market. The event aims to promote an exchange of knowledge capable of producing impacts on academic research, institutional policies and advances in this sector.

The Seminar will mark the conclusion of the first year of the research “Technological disruption in payment market: legal and economic implications”, and the launch of the book “Financial Regulation under debate”, a product developed within the scope of the research carried out by the Center for Advanced Studies on Regulation of the National System (NEASF).

The event will count with the participation of the speakers:

Charles Kahn - Professor Emeritus of Finance and Economics at the University of Illinois, consultant to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (2009-present) and the International Monetary Fund (2009-2010 and 2017-2020) and PhD in Economics from Harvard University (1981).

Rafaela Nogueira - Nubank Public Policy Associate, Master and PhD in Economics from the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV EPGE). She was professor of Statistics and Macroeconomics at the Getulio Vargas Foundation Law School (FGV Direito Rio) and researcher at Center for Research in Law and Economics (CPDE) of the Getulio Vargas Foundation Law School – FGV Direito Rio

The Seminar is organized by the Study Group on the Financial System Regulation maintained by the Center for Research in Law and Economics (CPDE) of the Getulio Vargas Foundation Law School – FGV Direito Rio (The “NEASF”), this study group aims to contribute to the improvement of Brazilian National Financial System (SFN) regulation through researches, discussions and analysis fostering public and private improvement of the Brazilian financial market.
